OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAt our holiday farm you can find:
Organic fruit from our ancient orchards (apples, pears, plums, cherries…)
Cultivated organic fruits such as raspberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, strawberries…
Wild woodland fruit: blueberries, raspberries, tiny wild strawberries, plus of course chestnuts, hazelnuts and walnuts.
Organic vegetables from our own garden.

In addition as we are located in an IGP area (an area where the mushrooms have special protection), we have created a 15 hectare reserve, which can be accessed only if accompanied by Giovanni, to see and photograph the mushrooms. Using the farm as a base, you can organize excursions in associated woodlands and, equipped with full permission on behalf of the local authorities, go on forays to search for the wonderful porcini mushrooms of the Val di Taro.

Let’s not forget the possibility of fishing for local trout in the Uccellecchia stream, which flows through our land, or going a kilometre further down, and fishing directly in the river Taro or one of its side streams.

It is possible to go on other excursions either on foot, on mountain bikes or on horseback, since there are many roads and mountain paths which lead for miles up into woods and splendid scenery.

On request, we can offer courses on mycology at various levels, stone cutting and information regarding the world of the woodlands.

Down in the valley, cultural excursions include visits to the castles of Compiano and Bardi and to the ancient Borgo Casale, as well as visits to Parma and to all its monuments.

Let us also remember that we are only 30 minutes away from Tuscany and Liguria, therefore also reasonably close to Florence, Sienna, Cinqueterre and Portofino. Albareto borders onto Varese Ligure, which was the first town to be certified as organic at European level.

Very close to us, in the historic Borgo Casale area, is a health farm where ‘hay baths’, massages, aromatherapy and many other treatments can be enjoyed.
Not far away is a natural pool for swimming, as well as a more traditional swimming pool and horse-riding facilities.

The animals that you will meet at the farm are three cats, called  Ginevra, Squitty and Stregatto, as well as the wild animals that you may encounter at any time such as various types of deer, hares, birds of prey and all kinds of birds in general.

During the winter months in all our buildings you will keep cosy and warm thanks to both central heating and wood fires…

We do not supply a restaurant service, but we will be happy to give advice according to your own particular tastes about the variety of excellent eating places in the valley.

It will be our duty and pleasure to give advice on the purchase of typical local products of the Val di Taro
